Blues

Originating in the African-American communities of primarily the United States’ Deep South at the end of the 19th century, blues music is a direct derivative of the melancholy and sadness felt through the work songs, shouts, chants, and rhymed narrative ballads of the time. Blues is characterized by specific chord progressions, typically played flat or slightly bent for expressive purposes.

Country

A blend of both traditional and popular musical forms found within the Southern United States formed what we know as the all-encompassing style and subgenres of modern day country music. From the classic originals such as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash to such modern day greats as Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill, country music has boomed in popularity since its start.

Folk

Blended from a number of different styles such as bluegrass, country, and gospel, among others, folk music is an important genre that speaks to the masses about the various issues of the day. Our collection includes various items from such legends of the field as Pete Seeger, Judy Collins and Arlo Guthrie.

Jazz

Originating in African American communities throughout the Southern United States, jazz music has been around from the early 20th century pulling its influence from both African and European music traditions. R&B - Funk - Soul

A genre of music that originated in the 1940s, the term Rhythm and Blues (R&B) was originally was used by record companies to describe recordings market predominantly to urban African Americans because of the popularity of the jazz infused rock music. Over the years, the meaning of this genre transformed into the contemporary R&B we know now combining elements of hip hop, R&B, and soul music.

Rock

An ever-popular genre of music, rock became main-stream in the 1960s. With its roots dug deep into the rock n roll, rhythm and blues, and country music of the 1940s and 1950s and its sound revolves around both electric and bass guitar, drums, keyboards, and modern-day synthesizers. Subsequently, our inventory covers a wide array of music within one category, rock music consists of alternative, pop, folk, punk, classic, metal, and indie rock.

Classical

The phrase for classical music as we know it did not appear until the early 19th century when well-known composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven were prevalent. From classics such as the Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight” to Run-DMC, Gang Starr, Atmosphere, and Jay Z we hold a vast array of your favorite artists from hip hop nation.

Pop

Reggae

With its development from the rocksteady music of the 1960s, reggae music is characterized by its rhythmic style and accents on the off-beat as well as the inclusion of various types of drums, the key use of bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals, and a vast horns section. Our collection of reggae autographs range from that of pioneering Lee 'Scratch' Perry to UB40 and Matisyahu.
