George S. Boutwell

George S. Boutwell (1818-1905), notable American statesman and the first Commissioner of the IRS under President Lincoln, pair of authentic autographed items. The first item is a note paper signed "Liberty can never die, George S. Boutwell. This page has been affixed to the reverse side of a much larger folded page which features notations from the original collector. The second item is an authentic hand-written letter dated 1874. These items are in good condition for their age aside from some expected minor age wear.
