Alexander Asboth

Alexander Asboth (December 18, 1811 – January 21, 1868), Hungarian military leader serving as a general in the Union Army during the American Civil War, original 1800s Carte-de-visite photograph.  Published by E. & H.T. Anthony of New York.

In addition to his service in the Civil War, Asboth fought in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848 and later served as United States Ambassador to Argentina and Uruguay.

Approximately 2.5 x 4 inches in size, this Carte-de-visite photograph is in good condition, aside from a slight touch of expected aging.
