Neil Armstrong (August 5, 1930-August 25, 2012), legendary NASA astronaut, American icon and the first man to walk on the moon. Group lot of four items related to Armstrong's high school reunions: One hand written, one page letter (ALS) signed as "N.A.," measuring 9 x 6 inches, dated February 10, 2012, responding to an invitation to a reunion; One type written, one page letter (TLS) signed "Neil," measuring 8.5 x 11 inches, dated February 3, 2007; Two RSVP slips, one signed "M/M N.A. Armstrong," the other signed "Neil Armstrong." All four are accompanied by their original mailing envelopes, with two filled out by Armstrong and two filled out in type.
All of Armstrong's signatures are of the more uncommon 'block letter' variety, rather than his iconic stylized signature. Each envelope is addressed to a "Doris Weber," a former classmate and organizer of the reunions, who Armstrong affectionately refers to as "Punky." An uncommon look into the more private and personal side of the first man on the moon.
Overall light creasing and wrinkling to the ALS, expected mailing folds, and some wear to edges and ballpoint notations to mailing envelopes, otherwise as a group, in fine condition.
