James Francis Edward Keith

James Francis Edward Keith (June 11, 1696 - October 14, 1758), Scottish soldier and Prussian field marshal, authentic autographed, untranslated, manuscript document (DS), dated December 21, 1757. 

As a Jacobite Keith took part in a failed attempt to restore the Stuart Monarchy to Britain, before joining the Spanish and Russian armies. He ultimately came to serve in the Prussian army under Frederick the Great where he distinguished himself. He died during the Seven Years' War at the Battle of Hochkirk.

Approximately 8" x 13" in size. Expected light aging, otherwise fine condition.
