Gettysburg Monuments, original glossy 8 x 10 photograph contact sheet depicting the North Carolina Monument in Gettysburg, PA. Credited to Kosti Ruohomaa.

The North Carolina Monument is a North Carolina memorial of the American Civil War commemorating the 32 Carolina regiments in action at the Battle of Gettysburg. The monument is a public artwork by American sculptor Gutzon Borglum located on Seminary Ridge, West Confederate Avenue.

Kosti Ruohomaa (1913 - 1961), Finnish-American photographer. After studying at the Boston School of Practical Art he worked as a commercial artist, then as a Disney animator. In 1944, after turning to photography, he began a successful career as a photojournalist with the Black Star agency.

Verso bears original Ruohomaa/Black Star credit ink-stamping and filing notations. In very good condition.
