William Haines Lytle

William Haines Lytle (November 2, 1826 – September 20, 1863), Union Army general killed in the American Civil War, authentic, original 1800s Carte-de-visite photograph. Published by Hoag & Quicks of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Prior to the Civil War Lytle fought in the Mexican-American War.  In the Civil War he was mortally wounded at the Battle of Chickamauga in Georgia while leading a counterattack on horseback.

Approximately 2.5 x 4 inches in size, this Carte-de-visite photograph is in good condition, aside from a slight touch of expected aging.
