Paul McCartney, legendary member of The Beatles, original licensing document, from the 1973 television special "James Paul McCartney". The document is dated June 21, 1974 and regards the special's licensing rights in Sweden.
The special “James Paul McCartney” was the result of a two year legal battle between McCartney and Sir Lew Grade, owner of the British ATV network, who’s music division included the Beatles Northern Songs catalogue and future Lennon-McCartney publishing rights until 1973.
Grade had objected to McCartney’s crediting his wife Linda as co-writer on songs beginning in 1971, which would allow Linda to retain the second composer's publishing royalties, which otherwise would have been assigned to Grade's company through the Northern Songs agreement. As a way to settle the ongoing dispute, McCartney agreed to star in the television special for Grade’s network.
Very good condition.
