Jacques Ramel de Nogaret

Jacques Ramel de Nogaret (1760 - 1829), Minister of Finances, authentic, autographed letter (LS). This one page document measures approximately 8" x 10" in size and is dated May 12, 1802.

In this letter, Nogaret writes to Citizen Perregaux and Co., thanking him for a loan of 20,000 francs which he promises to faithfully repay in four installments.

In addition to serving as Minister of Finances, Nogaret served as a French member of the National Convention and on the Council of Five Hundred.

This letter is also accompanied by an attractive steel engraving of Nogaret. The engraving is approximately 4" x 6" in size and is affixed to a larger sheet of paper approximately 8" x 11" in size.

This untranslated, one page letter is crisply signed by Nogaret at the conclusion. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. There are some expected intersecting folds.
