Andrea was a Corsican politician who would later become a Russian diplomat. In an early life, he was closely associated with both Napoleon and Joseph Bonaparte. At the time, the two families were close political allies.

He is also well known for assisting at the Congress of Vienna. During the Hundred Days, he joined Louis XVIII in Belgium, where he conversed with the Duke of Wellington.

This undated letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by Andrea. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some expected intersecting fold lines.
