Charles Francois de Riffardeau

Charles Francois de Riffardeau (17 December 1763 - 1828), French Ambassador, authentic, autographed annotated letter (ALS). This one page letter measures approximately 4" x 7" in size and is undated.

The letter is attached to a slightly larger piece of paper. There are remnants of a wax seal from a previous mounting. 

Francois was a French Ambassador to the Sublime Porte of the Ottoman Empire (1815 - 1821). For this time of service, he was made a Duke in 1825. He later made a Peer of France by Louis XVIII and a Captain to the Guards of Charles X. 

This undated letter is crisply signed at the conclusion by Francois. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some expected intersecting fold lines, light soiling a some tears on the reverse.
