Elisabeth Strickland, nineteenth century English author, authentic, autographed vintage handwritten letter (ALS), two pages, dated February 14, 1862.
Written across four panels of a single folded sheet, Strickland writes to Miss Frederic May regarding the news of May's "wedlock," adding, "I stayed too long with my dear mother so that the colds of the North East coast caught me and now I am too ill to say all that I would say on your joyful event...,"signing at the conclusion.
Measuring approximately 4.5 x 7, this letter is in very good condition, with light toning, the expected mailing folds and a few small tears.
