Jean-Baptiste Isabey (11 April 1767 - 18 April 1855), French painter, authentic, autographed letter (LS). This one page letter measures approximately 8" x 10" in size and is dated June 18, 1804.
In this letter, Isabey addresses the local Mayor as to the permission he provided to his neighbor to contruct a balcony.
Isabey is well known for arranging the ceremonies of the marriage of Josephine and Napoleon Bonaparte. He also prepared the drawings for the publication intended as its official commemoration.
This one page, untranslated letter is crisply signed by Isabey. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. The letter contains some scattered creases, small tears and expected intersecting folds.
