$175.00 - Product is currently out of stock.
Katharine Hepburn (May 12, 1907 - June 29, 2003), classic American film actress, authentic autographed typed letter (TLS), dated October 16, 1990. Over the course of her illustrious career, Hepburn won a record four Academy Awards for the films "Morning Glory," "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," "The Lion in the Winter" and "On Golden Pond."
This piece comes from a vast collection of letters spanning a 12 year correspondence between the elusive actress and an avid admirer, Alice Hicks. Within these pages, Hepburn's typically short and brief responses to fan mail take on a seemingly invested, almost poetic form, suggesting a deeper, more intimate relationship between the two women. In this letter, Hepburn sends thanks, along with an exasperated sentiment, "Those nuts are absolutely delicious - Thank you very much - And may I say they are a most appropriate present as I read two letters from Alice Hicks - One 16 pages long and the other almost as long - It took me an hour and a half - What can we do about Alice Hicks? She does lovely things but wow! Hope you feel recovered from all your problems - Happy Fall - And many thanks."
In red ink across the top, Hepburn adds, "The _ just came. They are great & we really needed them - Thank you / Thank you."
Accompanied by original mailing envelope.
Typed on personal stationary with red printed lettering, the letter measures approximately 5.5 x 8.5 inches in size, and has been signed in black ink, "K. Hep."
In fine condition.
