William Wyndham Grenville (25 October 1759 - 12 January 1834), 1st Baron Grenville and British Whig statesman, authentic, autographed letter (LS). This two page letter measures approximately 7" x 9" in size and is dated September 22, 1800. 

In the letter, Grenville addresses Sir John Sinclair Bart in response to Bart's request to send a horse to teh Emperor of Russia. The letter is signed at the time Grenville served as Foreign Secretary.

Grenville also served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1806 - 1807 as head of the Ministry of All the Talents. His decade as Foreign Secretary was a dramatic one, having seen the Wars of the French Revolution.

He left office as Prime Minister over the issue of Catholic Emancipation.

This document is crisply signed at the conclusion by Grenville. It is in good to very good condition, with overall light toning not affecting the signature. There are scattered creases, expected intersecting folds and remnanats of prior mountings on the reverse.
