Wanted Posters

Original vintage double-sided Wanted Posters, affixed to a slightly larger album page. Posters on front reads: "Reward / Escaped Convict! / Escape From Parole / $50.00 Reward! / Jack King...," dated May 6, 1911, Walla Walla, Washington.

Three smaller fliers affixed to verso, two hailing from the New Jersey Reformatory, each offering a $25.00 Reward for a Parole Violator and Escaped "bicycle thief." The third is a "Wanted" flier for "Thos. O'Brien...for obtaining money under false pretenses," from Colorado Springs, Colorado

Front poster bears the official stamp: "Office Chief of Police, San Francisco, Cal, May 9 1911, Hall of Justice."

From the collection of Police Chief Michael Webb (1950-2009). Webb joined the Vinita Park, Missouri police force in 1974 and served until his death in 2009, during which time he purchased crime artifacts from relatives of criminals and law officers. Boasting more than 8,000 wanted posters, pieces of Webb’s collection have been featured in film and displayed at the National Crime and Punishment Museum in Washington.

Measuring approximately 10 x 12, poster exhibits the expected toning, age wear, some tearing and rippling.
