Civil War Battlefields, original double-weight glossy 11 x 14 (approximate) photograph credited to Kosti Ruohomaa. Photograph is identified on verso as "Tennessee Campaign / Chattanooga - Trees, cliffs and rocks at Lookout Mt. conditions which soldiers faced."

Kosti Ruohomaa (1913 - 1961), Finnish-American photographer. After studying at the Boston School of Practical Art he worked as a commercial artist, then as a Disney animator. In 1944, after turning to photography, he began a successful career as a photojournalist with the Black Star agency.

Verso bears original Ruohomaa/Black Star credit ink-stamping and filing notations. In very good condition with minor creasing, dings and wear to edges and corners.
