Original large format camera negative, 4 x 5 inches in size, from the archive of U.S. Marine Corps photographer, Robert H. Westmoreland, a gifted Marine Corps combat photographer who served in both WWII (present at the Marine invasion of Tarawa and Okinawa) and the Korean Conflict. Negative depicts a scene from a Marine Corp operation, likely in the Pacific. The camera negative is accompanied by the original negative sleeve with printed Marine Corps identification including "Location Confidential."
Negative is likely a photograph taken by Westmoreland himself, however, there are some photographs within the negative archive which were likely taken by photographers alongside Westmoreland, and not specifically by Westmoreland himself.
Fine condition and most likely unpublished. (positive image only for display purposes only, this listing does not include the printed photograph, only the negative and negative sleeve)
