Muhammad Ali and Jacqueline Kennedy custom display with Ali fabric swatch from original training-worn hand wraps and Kennedy silk swatch cut from bedspreads personally used during her diplomatic trip to India in 1962. Both are presented in a custom display featuring images of Mrs. Kennedy with Ali at the Robert F. Kennedy Tennis Tournament Kick Off Party, New York, 1977.

Muhammad Ali; born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. (January 17, 1942 – June 3, 2016), American professional boxer, activist, and philanthropist. Nicknamed "The Greatest," he is widely regarded as one of the most significant and celebrated sports figures of the 20th century and as one of the greatest boxers of all time.

Authentic swatch cut from a stunning pair of golden silk bedspreads from the private cottage of First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy and her sister Lee Radziwill, who personally used these bedspreads during their nine-day diplomatic trip to India in March of 1962; the cottage was furnished by the Indian government and designed specifically for them.

The present fabric swatches each measures approximately 1" x 1" and have been affixed to an 8" x 10" custom print.


Ali Provenance: Originally acquired from Daria Muhammad, daughter of Wali Muhammad, long time assistant trainer and corner man of Ali. Accompanied by a facsimile copy of original signed letter of provenance from Daria Muhammad, April 4, 2012.

Kennedy Provenance: Acquired by William ‘Bill’ G. Wilcox, a senior officer in the USIS (United States Information Service), during Mrs. Kennedy's trip to India, summer of 1962. Accompanied by a facsimile copy of original signed letter of provenance from Wilcox's granddaughter Laura, September 20, 2019. Also includes facsimile copies of press clippings referencing Kennedy, Wilcox and the Indian trip.
